As a member of AACE since 2018, I can confidently attest to the profound impact this association has had on my career and on advancing best practices in workforce development for the benefit of students. The networking opportunities provided through AACE have been invaluable, connecting me with a diverse range of cooperative education programs, career services from both 2-year and 4-year colleges, and prospective employers across our state.
The exchange of knowledge and best practices among members has been transformative, empowering me to better serve our students and equip them for success in the competitive job market. Personally, being part of this consortium has significantly enhanced my professional development and fostered valuable friendships that I deeply appreciate.
I strongly encourage every member to actively engage in AACE activities and leverage opportunities such as committee involvement or serving on the AACE Board. Serving on the Board over the past few years has been incredibly rewarding and impactful for me. AACE may be a small organization, but it is mighty in its influence and support for its members.
I look forward to continuing my membership for many years to come and contributing further to its mission of enhancing educational and career success across Alabama.

After 10+ years as a member of AACE, I can proudly say that it is the organization outside of my full-time job that has most influenced and aided my career. Not only has AACE provided the professional development I needed but it has provided lifelong friendships and acquaintances within my industry. After benefitting from AACE as a member for several years, I began to get involved with leadership by joining a committee and then ultimately chairing it the next year. AACE made it easy and comfortable to get involved and I joined the board full-time as Secretary, then Treasurer, next Vice-Present, and finally President, and now I am rolling off the board as Past-President. It has been an honor and a privilege to be involved in this organization and with its members. I recommend anyone involved in hiring, higher education, or industry join this group as you will benefit greatly.

AACE is by far my favorite professional association involvement. The connections and relationships that I have formed are invaluable and have provided me with opportunities for exponential professional growth. Having connections/friends that I can relate to and talk to about the shared types of challenges and successes has helped to build confidence and have allowed each of us to see the value of our work. There are many opportunities to get plugged in with AACE to build your resume and professional experience: by attending conferences, workshops, and coffee chats, or by taking on leadership roles within various committees. I am honored and proud to be a part of such a tight knit group of college and employer professionals!
