
Below are the responsibilities of each board officer and director as of August 2023.

| President | – Shall preside at all meetings of the membership and Executive Board – Shall appoint all chairpersons and members of the committees unless otherwise designated in the Articles of Incorporation and by-laws – Shall be a member ex-officio of all committees – Shall appoint a committee from the board to nominate candidates to fill the unexpired term of any board member or officer, excluding the office of President – Shall serve as the Chair for the Summer Conference and plan such conferences/meetings according to the position – Shall coordinate the Statewide Career Fair or similar event.Shall communicate bi-weekly communications to the membership regarding association updates and events – Shall oversee and respond to communications through the AACE email Duties as assigned: Oversee website revisions and email communications |
| First Vice President | – Shall be in charge of the recruitment and retention of new and existing members – Shall oversee a strategic plan for marketing and promotion of the organization – Shall Co-Chair the Sponsorship Committee with the Past-President in assisting AACE with promoting sponsorships – Shall coordinate recruitment events, both in person and virtual – Shall schedule, create advertisements, and coordinate fall and spring semester monthly Coffee Chats – Shall assist in posting membership information on the AACE LinkedIn group Duties as assigned: Internal and external marketing and communications |
| Second Vice President | – Shall serve as the Chair of the Professional Development Committee – Shall lead the Professional Development committee to plan and deliver the Winter Workshop, which is subject to the review and approval of the Executive Board Duties as assigned: Primary focus area is fall. |
| Secretary | – Shall keep all official minutes of the board and membership to be approved by the President updated on the AACE Google Drive – Shall preserve all papers, letters, and records of all transactions except those of the Treasurer on the AACE Google Drive |
| Treasurer | – Shall maintain a record of all the Association’s financial business, including payment of bills and collection of dues and other monies – Shall provide at least monthly financial reports to the board – Shall be responsible for presenting to the President the Association’s finalized financial records for the annual fiscal audit – Shall complete AACE’s annual taxes – Shall submit invoices regarding AACE’s membership and registrations – Shall complete payments regarding AACE’s spending – Shall provide checks to award recipients for Co-Op of the Year and Intern of the Year awards – Shall construct a budget to be reviewed and approved by the board |
| Past-President | – Shall be the Immediate Past-President and serve as the member ex-officio of the Executive Board – Shall Co-Chair the Sponsorship Committee with the First Vice President in assisting AACE with promoting sponsorships |
| Directors | Responsibilities |
| Employer Representative | – Shall work to gather information and data to share with the Association regarding employer trends and needs for employer members – Shall serve as the Chair for the Awards & Nominations Committee; The Awards & Nominations Committee shall be responsible for reviewing and making selections of winners to be presented at the Summer Conference. – Shall work with the College Representative to promote a calendar of events to employer members. – Shall work with the First Vice President in the recruitment and retainment of new and existing employer members. – Shall handle renewing and coordinating SHRM’s Recertification Provider Program inquiries by employer members. |
| College Representative | – Shall work with the First Vice President in the recruitment and retention of new and existing college/university members. – Shall handle the updating of the AACE website including events, registrations, payment information, photos, etc. – Shall update the Calendar of Events on the website submitted by members. |
